Interesting facts about playing the guitar

You are not sure how to promote your guitar teaching business and get students on a consistent basis. Most guitar teachers tend to use the same method for attracting new guitar students (whether it works or not). Once this method stops working, they end up running out of guitar students, and do not know how to find new ones. Unfortunately, these guitar teachers generally have poor marketing strategies that do not promote their teaching business very well. The most successful guitar teachers have many different overlapping strategies working for them all at the same time that provide them with a continual stream of new guitar students.

and here is another

Not Knowing How To Distinguish Yourself From The Competition. The best way to distinguish yourself from your competitors is to not have any. Read the last sentence several times and think about what it means! How can this apply to your situation as a guitar teacher? There are probably dozens (or hundreds) of guitar teachers in your local area, so it may seem impossible to "not have competitors"....or is it? One effective way to make all competition "irrelevant" is to offer something that no other guitar teacher in your area does. Having several teaching models in addition to the standard one-on-one guitar lessons is one such possibility, but there are MANY others. The options range from changing the way you conduct lessons to thinking of innovative ways for overcoming objections of prospective guitar students that will make them want to choose you over the competition every time.

and finally

All of this translates into you having to re-teach the student how to practice what they learned on guitar the next week (when they should've already been making progress from last week!). Here is why this approach to teaching guitar practice is a total failure: 1. The student doesn't have enough time to truly absorb the process for practicing guitar effectively. 2. During the lesson, your students might think they know what needs to get done to practice effectively, but when they get home and pick up their guitar; they practice incorrectly or forget. 3. You never check to assure that your guitar students are practicing properly because you have never actually observed the way that they practice. Watching your students 'practice' is different than just listening to them play. When you hear them play, you hear the 'end result', but you don't actually see the process they used in order to produce it.
